In order to update the whole school on the progress of the action plan agreed by the committee after completing the litter and waste reviews, the Green school Committee of St. Aloysius College organised the following events;

A presentation in Central area of the school attended by staff and students after the 11am break. This presentation lasted for forty minutes. It consisted of a presentation by the committee members on; how to recycle, what items were recyclable, what bins were to be used for each item and a progress report on the Green school initiative in the school. In order to facilitate this presentation the Green school committee members arranged the main types of waste and litter in the school; juice cartons, sandwich wrappers (plastic and paper), plastic bottles, bun foil holders. These item were shown to all students and staff and a demonstration on how to dispose of each appropriately.

The Vice-principal spoke at the presentation and spoke of the school mangement’s commitment to the Green schools ethos in the school.

The students and staff were encouraged to sign a pledge committing themselves to the Green code statement ‘make St. Aloysius a litter free school and green zone’.
