Transition year students make schoolmates more aware of environmentally friendly products through learning and fun. We introduced an Irish made, handcrafted wooden puzzle. These puzzles were made available to students at lunchtime to solve. The demand for the wooden puzzle called the ‘Mercy Challenge’ increased every day. Students really enjoyed the challenge of using their problem solving skills and the fun and satisfaction of completing it successfully. At the same time it allowed us to make the students aware of renewable environmentally friendly resources. The puzzle was so popular and challenging students really enjoyed them.
